Product Description

Also known as Honeywort, Cerinthe Purpurascens is a hardy annual that will add bouts of colour to your displays with ease. Tiny purple flowers appear throughout summer and into early autumn, each of which are complete bee magnets. Self-seeds readily and loves a full-sun position. Sow seeds indoors through autumn to overwinter successfully, or indoors from March-April/outside from May-June.

Growing at a glance…

Sow under glass or indoors in a warm place from March to April. Sow 1-2cm in well-draining seed compost. Germination will take around 7-21 days. Transplant when large enough to handle 5cm apart and grow on under glass. Gradually acclimatize to outdoors before planting out in full sun after all danger of frost has passed, spacing them 5cm apart. Can be sown directly to the flowering position from mid April onwards, especially if spring has been warm. Will readily self-seed, but can be avoided by deadheading regularly.
