Product Description

In 2014 the Cherry Kordia Tree, also known as 'Prunus Kordia', was awarded an RHS Award of Garden Merit, and it isn't difficult to see why. This compact, dwarf variety is grown on dwarf root stock and will reach a maximum mature height of just 180cm, making it the ideal choice for growing in the border or as a potted patio plant. The elegant, early spring blossoms of the Cherry Kordia are followed in April and May by a heavy crop of larger than average, high quality fruits. These are tartly sweet in taste and boast glossy, deep red skins which are resistant to splitting. Root wrapped fruit tree supplied, 50cm+.

New Pigmy Cherry tree grown on Dwarf root stock. A real patio novelty as they grow to no more than 1.8-2m tall and they will bear an abundance gorgeous fragrant spring blossom and delicious fruit. The fascinating slow development of the blossomthroughout the summer cumulating in beautiful, mouth-watering fruit is highly rewarding. They are suitable for planting in most types of fertile and well drained soil. Plant in a sunny location as they do not prosper too well in the shade. If possible prepare the ground some time in advance of planting. Open out holes and plant withenough space to accommodate the roots without cramping them. Provide a stake to help support the shrub in its early years, protecting it from strong winter winds. Mulch during cold/frost and water freely.
