'Temptation' is an exciting type of Clematis which produces an abundance of two different kinds of flowers within two different seasons! During the spring, this fabulous variety produces huge double flowers, with deep red-purple outer petals and ruffled inner pale purple petals with a hint of pale green. In summer, 'Temptation' will produce a second round of flowers but of a more singular appearance, where the petals are a vivid lilac-lavender purple with a deep red-pink centre on each petal with contrasting yellow stamens. These impressive flowers begin to grow from March through to August and stand out against the dense deciduous green foliage. Ideal for adding character to grow up walls, trellises or patio containers, these are an excellent climbing plant to create a breath-taking display. Reaching a height of up to 3m, we recommend planting in sunny areas of the garden in fertile, well-drained soil. The pretty flowers can also be used within cut-flower displays to be enjoyed indoors. Tall 7cm pot plants supplied.

Clematis can be planted October-May in areas with good drainage and plenty of sun is preferable. Soak in a bucket of water prior to planting and plant deep enough to allow plenty of room for root development. The roots of clematis like to be kept cool so it is a good idea to plant amongst low growing shrubs or bedding plants. If planting in containers, ensure the pot is large enough to allow the roots to expand/develop, as limitation of roots will certainly impede future success.
Clematis are vigorous climbing plants that reach various heights and spreads. Its best to prune back to keep control over the growth annually and initially they should be tied in to help direct the new growth. Apply a liquid fertiliser each year during the growing season, and water regularly during hot periods.
