Product Description

Jagged white petals with pale purple edges and a greenish-yellow base give Dahlia ‘Crazy Love’ its striking, painterly charm. Each large, double bloom sits atop dark stems, framed by rich, deep-green foliage, creating a bold yet elegant presence in the garden.

Growing up to a metre in height, Dahlia ‘Crazy Love’ flowers from mid-summer through to the first frosts, bringing late-season colour when many other plants begin to fade. It thrives in full sun with fertile, moist but well-drained soil and develops a compact, upright form that ensures a structured display.

The soft white and purple tones harmonise beautifully with deeper purples such as Salvia, chartreuse foliage like Heuchera, or silver-leafed plants such as Artemisia, while offering subtle contrast alongside pale perennials or airy grasses (Miscanthus). With its generous blooms and sculptural presence, ‘Crazy Love’ makes a striking statement in mixed borders or as an elegant cut-flower feature.

Growing at a glance…

Dahlia tubers can be planted outdoors, 10cm deep in fertile well-drained soil in spring when the frost has disappeared. They prefer to be in a sunny location and spaced at approximately 45cm apart. In areas where there is extreme cold, dig up dahlias and store in potting compost over the winter. Apply a high potash fertiliser every few weeks in the summer to help growth. Dead head when necessary.
