Product Description

‘Myrtle’s Folly’ is a dramatic fimbriated Dahlia with narrow, twisted, fringed petals that create richly textured, sculptural blooms. Its flowers shimmer in soft apricot, peach, pink and yellow tones, producing a warm, rippling effect that stands out in any border. Upright stems reach 50-100 cm, complemented by deep green foliage that enhances the architectural quality of the flowers.

Blooming from July through to October, this Dahlia offers a long season of eye-catching, layered flowers. Perfect for cutting, the blooms attract butterflies, adding both colour and gentle movement to the garden.

Grown from tubers, ‘Myrtle’s Folly’ flourishes in full sun with well-drained soil and benefits from frost protection in colder regions. Its pastel tones blend beautifully with mauves, purples and silvery foliage in mixed borders, creating a delicate late-season display. With its combination of unique form, colour and pollinator appeal, it makes a captivating addition to any garden scheme.

Growing at a glance…

Dahlia tubers can be planted outdoors, 10cm deep in fertile well-drained soil in spring when the frost has disappeared. They prefer to be in a sunny location and spaced at approximately 45cm apart. In areas where there is extreme cold, dig up dahlias and store in potting compost over the winter. Apply a high potash fertiliser every few weeks in the summer to help growth. Dead head when necessary.
