A holder of the RHS Award of Merit, this showstopping shrub produces giant conical flowers that begin creamy white and then transform to a deep pink as the season progresses. Growing to a height and spread of 2.5m, this variety is ideal for filling a gap in the summer border or alternatively, why not plant in pots for a spectacular patio arrangement. Make sure that the hydrangea receives lots of water when the summer comes. Hydrangeas are very low maintenance and will need little pruning, but can be done in spring as new shoots appear. The old shoots should be left in the winter and not removed until spring. Apply a mulch annually to protect from winter colds.Hydrangeas can be grown in fertile, well drained soil and often prefer a shady location.
