Product Description

Carthamus Tinctorius Zanzibar, often known as the Saffron Thistle or False Saffron, is a gorgeous addition to the summer garden. Produces vibrant orange thistle-shaped flower heads that are sometimes used as a colouring additive to foods in replacement of normal saffron. Great for cutting and drying, whatever takes your fancy. Perfect for the flower bed!

Growing at a glance…

Sow indoors from February to April or outdoors from April to June. Seeds will take an average 12-18 days to germinate. Transplant into 8cm pots once the seedlings are large enough to handle and acclimatise to the outdoors once all threat of frost has passed.
