Product Description

Our Tulip Double Late Mix delivers sumptuous, fully double blooms with a rounded, peony-like form, each flower layered with dense petals in a rich blend of colours from deep reds and purples to softer pinks, creams and subtle bicolours. Held on sturdy stems above fresh green foliage, they bring depth, volume and a luxurious texture to spring displays.

Flowering late in the season, typically from late April into May, this mix extends interest with a varied yet cohesive show of colour. Plants grow upright to around 55 cm with a compact spread of 10-15 cm, lending themselves to mid-border planting or generous drifts where the colour mix can weave naturally.

Best in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade, these Tulips integrate well with Narcissus, Viola and early perennials such as Geranium or Alchemilla, enhancing both contrast and continuity through the season.

We guarantee our great value mixture packs contain a comprehensive blend of variety and colours. By definition, the components of the mixtures are not labelled/named on arrival.

Growing at a glance…

Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn, before any frost. Find an area of soil that is well-drained and moist and plant your bulbs at twice their depth and spaced apart by 10-15cm. Ensure they are properly covered, you should not be able to see them on the surface of the soil. Position in an area that you know receives plenty of sunlight but is also sheltered from harsh winds. Deadhead the flowers once they wilt, encouraging a healthier plant.
