Currants are great for growing in a small fruit garden or also equally effective when grown in containers on a patio or pot where space may be limited. They are easy to grow and produce bunches of fruit, usually in mid-summer depending on the weather. Currants are incredibly high in Vitamin C and a great addition to a healthy lifestyle. Our collection is made up of three each of Wellington XXX (black fruit), Red Lake (scarlet red fruit) and Versailles (white fruit). Supplied as two year, three shoots+ plants they can be planted in late autumn and throughout spring. They thrive best when grown in sunny locations, preferably in a south facing location. They can be used as stand-alone shrubs or grown in groups where they can make an attractive boundary within a fruit and veg garden or allotment.
