Product Description
Agapanthus ‘Poppin Purple’ adds vibrant colour and reliable performance to summer planting schemes. This fast-growing variety stands out with its vivid violet trumpet-shaped flowers emerging from rich purple-black buds. Clusters of unopened blooms add extra dimension to each flowerhead.
Flowering stems rise to around 60-70 cm from neat clumps of evergreen, strap-like foliage. Its extended blooming period often includes a second flush in late summer or early autumn, providing prolonged seasonal interest in borders or patio containers.
Compact and vigorous, ‘Poppin Purple’ adapts exceptionally well to growing in pots, making it easy to relocate to sheltered spots during colder weather.
Thriving in full sun with well-drained soil, it shows excellent garden performance. For a fresh and lively contrast, try pairing it with Nepeta ‘Walker’s Low’ or Coreopsis ‘Moonbeam’ in mixed perennial displays.

Growing at a glance…
Our agapanthus potted plants can be grown directly outside in the border or into a container on arrival. Dig a hole that’s big enough to house the root system in your desired planting spot, at the same depth as they are in their pot. Wedge the plant in by adding soil to the gaps left, firming the plant down gently to ensure it’s in place. These perennials will flower from early summer through to mid-autumn. Mulch well with compost or organic matter for winter protection. Position in full sun or partial shade.
