Product Description

Agastache mexicana Summerlong Coral is a coral-flowered Mexican giant hyssop with upright, mounded habit and aromatic green foliage. Tall, densely packed spires of tubular salmon-pink blooms rise above the leaves, bringing long-lasting summer colour and an informal, herbaceous texture to borders, containers and patio displays. The foliage adds a gentle fragrance, enhancing the sensory appeal of the planting.

Flowering begins in April and continues through September, with plants typically reaching 40-55 cm in height and spread. Its medium stature makes it suitable for the front or middle of mixed borders, as a vibrant patio specimen, or in pollinator-friendly schemes, where the vivid coral tones uplift neighbouring plantings.

Like other Agastache varieties, Summerlong Coral thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, combining well with ornamental grasses, late summer salvias and other long-season perennials. Its tidy habit and enduring bloom make it a versatile choice for gardeners seeking summer-long interest and colour.

Growing at a glance…

Unpack your plants immediately upon arrival and give them a little water if they feel a bit dry. Pot on for 2-3 weeks before planting them out into their final positions outdoors. Alternatively, you can plant these plugs directly outdoors if the weather permits (all risk of frost is gone). Water these plants freely during the growing season and make sure to dead-head spent flowers regularly to prolong their display.
