Begonia tubers can be planted from February onwards. Plant them into shallow boxes containing a mixture of loam, leaf mould and sand. Top with a good topsoil that's mixed with one-sixth of manure to form the basis. Also add leaf mould and bonemeal. A s so on as shoots appear, you can pot them up in 15cm pots.
Begonias are particularly useful for bedding purposes. As soon as any danger of frost is passed, transfer to their final position in the garden, spaced around 30cm apart. Begonias are great lovers of moisture. Water regularly morning and evening through dry weather.
