Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple' is a hardy deciduous Smoketree shrub delivering deep rounded red-purple leaves that turn a vivid redder shade during the autumn months. From July through to August, unusual large pink-red clusters of flowers bloom making this an outstanding shrub to help brighten in your summer garden. A hardy shrub, wispy feathery plumes appear to hover over the foliage like smoke hence the common name, the smoke tree. This beautiful shrub has gained the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit and reach an eventual height of 3m. We recommend pruning hard in March for the best results later in the year. Plant in the garden borders to add depth and texture to your display or for those with smaller gardens, they can also be planted in containers for the patio or decking. Pot-grown plants supplied.
