Daphne odora Aureomarginata is also known as the gold-edged winter Daphne. It is a winter flowering gem which is often noticed for its gorgeous sweet scent before it is even seen. Originating from Eastern Asia, this evergreen shrub produces fleshy, fragrant pink tubular flowers with four spreading lobes from dark pink buds, on a backdrop of dark green leaves with attractive yellow margins. After flowering, pretty red berries are produced. A fairly compact variety with more of a spreading habit than many deciduous shrubs. It is ideal for large containers, where the sweet scent can be enjoyed up close. Make sure not to over water, err on the side of keeping them a little dry for best results. Once they're established, they are very tough and hardy plants - just make sure not to disturb the roots before then. Height 1.5m. 2 litre pot plants supplied.
