Gardenia jasminoides 'Crown Jewel' is a sensational hardy dwarf evergreen shrub that produces masses of heavily scented flowers. This sensational shrub has enjoyed immense popularity in recent years and it's easy to see why. Its glossy forest green leaves provide a dramatic backdrop to the pearly white star-shaped double flowers that bloom in abundance from early summer right through to autumn. Hardy, but will need frost protection in winter in exposed gardens.

Growing at a glance…
Plant on arrival straight into the border or patio container. This dwarf shrub will tolerate most types of well drained and fertile soil, and will thrive best in a sheltered location. Plant with a little organic matter and keep the soil just moist. You can use a liquid feed during the flowering period to encourage larger blooms. Pruning can be done at the end of the cold winter when the frost has cleared.
