On the hunt for a truly unique addition to your fruit garden? Look no further than the Honeyberry. Often referred to as the 'Haskap Berry' or 'Lonicera Caerulea', this variety of blue honeysuckle produces elongated purple fruits which bear remarkable similarities to the traditional blueberry. Like the blueberry, the fruits of the Honeyberry are packed with vitamin C and antioxidants, and some nutritionists even claim that they possess anti-aging and fat burning properties. Regardless of their seemingly endless health benefits, Haskap berries are deliciously sweet and can be cooked into preserves and desserts for an irresistible summer treat. What's more, the Honeyberry is native to the harsh climes of Siberia, Northern Japan and Northern China, and can tolerate temperatures as low as minus forty degrees. Needless to say, it is fully hardy and will thrive in any location in the UK! For best results, plant in a sunny, preferably south-facing spot.
