Product Description

SunPatiens Compact Purple Candy is a tidy, modern Impatiens with particularly rich purple flowers. Its naturally compact, mounded habit makes it ideal for containers, edging, and the front of summer borders, where it provides strong colour without overwhelming neighbouring plants.

Bred for reliable summer performance, this variety flowers freely from early summer through to the first autumn frosts. Unlike traditional busy lizzies, SunPatiens tolerate brighter conditions, performing well in both full sun and partial shade. Grown as a tender annual in the UK, it offers long-lasting interest with minimal maintenance and no need for deadheading.

Reaching around 30-40 cm in height and spread, Purple Candy prefers moist, well-drained soil and regular watering, particularly in containers. It combines well with Begonias, Coleus, and lighter-flowered companions that help emphasise its deep purple tones and create balanced summer displays.

Growing at a glance…

Unpack your plants immediately upon arrival and give them a little water if they feel a bit dry. Pot on for 2-3 weeks before planting them out into their final positions outdoors. Alternatively, you can plant these plugs directly outdoors if the weather permits (all risk of frost is gone). Water these plants freely during the growing season and make sure to dead-head spent flowers regularly to prolong their display.
