Product Description
Liatris Spicata, also known as Blazing Star, is a gorgeous perennial that produces impressive blooms come summer. Each plant produces tall plumes, feathery in habit and purple in colour. Its foliage is quite grass-like, with linear leaves that sprout upwards in an explosion of green. Can grow to heights of 3ft, an impressive choice for growing in the back of a border or as its own focal piece.

Growing at a glance…
Can either be sown indoors from spring or autumn or outdoors throughout spring. Seeds grown indoors should be kept warm to help germination. Sow lightly on the surface of well-drained soil and keep them in a heated greenhouse or propagator. Keep moist, watering the base of the plant only. Transplant seedlings into a larger pot once they're large enough to handle. Acclimatise to the outdoors once all threat of frost has passed. If sowing directly outdoors, ensure soil is well prepared before sowing and has been raked to a fine tilth. Thin seedlings if and when it's required. Deadhead flowers once spent to keep the display tidy.
