Product Description

Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit, 'Nigra' is a beautiful Magnolia variety. Flowering from April to May, deep purple-red outer petals sit in a narrow Tulip shape and gently reflex at the tips like a Lily. Glossy elliptic shaped leaves complement these dazzling flowers which reach a mature height of 2.5m. The iconic goblet shaped flowers of Magnolia are a must have for gardeners looking to bring an exotic touch to the garden border. They are also highly fragrant and are a great choice for attracting pollinators, such as butterflies into the garden. This compact shrub is native to Southwest China and Japan and is known more commonly as the 'Black Lily Magnolia'. We recommend planting in areas where the sweet fragrance of the Magnolia can be enjoyed in sunny or partially shaded areas of the garden in acidic to neutral soil where they will thrive. 25-30cm tall plant, supplied in 12cm pot.

Do notallow plants to dry out in hot weather and water regularly.Plant in moist, acid-to-neutral soil in full sun or partial shaded areas.
