Product Description

Narcissus bulbocodium ‘Julia Jane’ is a popular hoop petticoat form, known for its pale yellow flowers with a softly flared, trumpet-like corona and minimal petals. The blooms have a smooth, almost translucent quality, held above slender, grass-like foliage that forms compact clumps around 10-15 cm tall, bringing a light, refined presence to the front of planting schemes.

‘Julia Jane’ performs best in well-drained soils, particularly sandy or gritty compositions, where bulbs remain dry through dormancy. Ideal for rock gardens, containers and raised areas, it prefers full sun but will tolerate light shade.

Flowering from late winter into early spring, this Narcissus produces solitary blooms that create a naturally spaced, airy effect. It integrates seamlessly with Crocus, Iris reticulata, Muscari, and small Tulips, contributing to an intricate, early-season display with gentle colour harmony.

Growing at a glance…

Daffodils (or narcissi) are both easy to grow and incredibly reliable. Like many bulbs, it takes very little time to plant them. Remove any weeds in the area you'd like to plant your bulbs and dig at the soil to aerate it. Fork in some organic matter to improve the drainage and soil structure. Daffodils prefer sunny spots and well-drained soil, so keep this in mind when planting. Plant each bulb 2-3 times the bulbs height and place it with the shoot facing upwards. Space them twice their width apart. Cover with soil and water if the ground is dry.
