The Best Snowdrop Walks in the UK

There's nothing more whimsical and inviting than a woodland walk, taking the time to marvel at all its beauty. This early in the spring season sees the eruption of tiny white blooms, otherwise known as Snowdrops or Galanthus. These pretty and petite flowers are among the first to bloom in the new year, lasting for a very short time.

If you're after a natural way to unwind on the weekend, then we suggest visiting a snowdrop walk! These trails are peppered with thousands of tiny beauties, allowing you to take in the scenery and relax on your day off. Here are just a few spots where you can experience the early spring bloomers in all their glory.

Rode Hall, Cheshire

From February to Mid-March, Rode Hall in Cheshire is a great location to enjoy a scenic stroll on your day off. With its rose garden and woodland trails, Rode Hall is always a great go-to for when you need some nature in your life.

Dogs are welcome, and admission for adults and children is required for entry.

Ickworth, Suffolk

An impressive 18th Century house in Bury St. Edmunds that is surrounded by beautiful park grounds and swathes of blooms. Snowdrops can be seen with other early-flowering varieties like Aconites, which appear in glorious shades of sunshine yellow. A perfect choice for a leisurely stroll with the family!

As this walk is part of the national trust, pre-booking is required to enter.

Austwick Hall, Yorkshire

At Austwick Hall, carpets upon carpets of single and double snowdrops can be found along this gorgeous trail. Statues can also be found along the way, adding to the scenic route. Although admission is required for entry, it's well worth the pennies to enjoy this whimsical spring walk!

Bodnant Gardens, Conwy

Bodnant Gardens in Conwy, Wales is another National Trust trail that produces carpets of gorgeous snowdrop blooms. The Old Park Meadow is the prime location to see them in their natural habitat - which is coincidentally the oldest part of the gardens, dating back to the Georgian era. A must-see for any history buffs.
