Also known as Denniston's Superb, ‘Imperial Gage' is a reliable, hardy variety and holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. The plums are small and oval with a pale green skin that have an excellent flavour with overtones of honeyed sweetness. It has great disease resistance and is self-fertile, although will fruit better with a pollination partner. It produces beautiful early spring white blossoms from April that are surrounded by bushy deciduous foliage and invites butterflies and birds into the garden. We recommend protecting from frost so as not to impact on the fruiting season in August and to plant in sunny locations within well-drained, fertile soil for optimum results. Two-year-old bare root trees supplied.

Order any two or more large fruit trees for only £12.99 each saving £2 per tree.

Pruning

Late Winter/Early Spring

Two year old fruit trees grafted onto St Julien A. All the varieties we offer are manageable but need to be kept pruned for the average garden.
Young trees must be watered thoroughly and must be pruned regularly. In winter training pruning should be done before four years old, and maintenance training should be done thereafter.
