Product Description

Rose 'Joro' is an exquisite double-flowering Hybrid Tea variety that produces deep orange petals from mid-summer. Highly fragranced and long flowering, 'Joro' is truly a marvel when added to any summer garden. Bushy in habit, this shrub will grow to heights of 80-100cm and will make the most perfect cut flowers for an indoor bouquet. Water occasionally and position in full sun for best results. Flowers from June to September. Loose rooted shrub (2-3-year-old) supplied. Please note: Fragrant rose's perfume is usually the most potent on warm, sunny days, while sat in moist soil. Its important to imitate these conditions, as it will release the fragrant chemicals within the flowers. High humidity increases the longevity of the fragrance as it reduces the chance of the chemicals evaporating.

Soil Type Fertile, humus rich and well drained soil

Growing at a glance…

Roses should be planted firmly, to ensure that wind will not disrupt the roots. Apply a balanced fertiliser every 3-4 weeks in the spring/summer, and apply a mulch in the winter for protection. Can be pruned back to remove any dead wood or growth. It is best to plant roses in winter or early spring, provided there is little frost. To prepare your bare rose roots, soak them in a bucket of water for an hour to 24 hours (longer in spring). Then, dig a hole large enough to house the roots when fully outspread. Distribute the roots evenly around the hole and put in a little bit of fine soil to which has been added a small amount of bonemeal. Fill in with the rest of the soil over the roots and tread in firmly. The depth of planting roses will vary between 10-20cm, or as deep as they were in their pots.
