Product Description
Runner Bean Scarlet Emperor is an impressive crop that produces tasty beans, each of which are a great source of vitamin C and iron. These dark green pods sit on 3m tall stems, which will need staking to help stand tall. When harvesting, snap the pods to check the beans are a pale green. This means they are ready. Sow inside from April to May or outside from May to August.

Growing at a glance…
Start seeds on a warm windowsill in early spring. Pop a single seed 1in deep per pot. Gradually acclimatise to the outdoors after all risk of frost has passed. Alternatively, you can plant seeds directly outside after the soil becomes warmer in late spring. Ensure plants have support to ramble by using canes or netting.
