Product Description

Butternut Waltham produces gorgeous tan coloured crops. This half-hardy annual is best when picked as soon as it develops a deep tan shade. Store cut crops somewhere cool and dry to enjoy them in the winter months. Cut off from the stem when they're ready to harvest with a sharp knife. Sow indoors from March to May or outside from late May to mid June.

Growing at a glance…

Early sowings should be popped under cover with additional heat provided. Try to keep seeds in 21C+ during germination. Their soil must be well-drained and humus-rich - the more, the better. If you're struggling for space, keep turning the branches back to the centre to prevent spreading.
