Looking as flamboyant as the Brazilian festival itself, Carnaval De Rio is a cup-shaped tulip variety in ice white, with lively flashes of vivid red streaks, pictured here beside Tulip Hollandia (blood red). The light, fresh fragrance of Carnaval De Rio make this tulip even more unique. Neat flowerheads sit atop tall grey-green stems and are adorned with lance-shaped foliage with narrow white margins. We recommend teaming Carnaval De Rio with other red, yellow and white tulips, for a vibrant display that seems to glow in the sun's rays. Plantbulbs pointy side up, 15cm deep and water well. Top quality 11/12cm bulbs supplied.

Soil Type
Well drained garden soil |
Plant bulbs in well dug soil about 8-10cm deep and approx 10-15cm apart. It is often beneficial to use a little bonemeal or super phosphate mixed in with the soil. Tulips delight during their growth in a sunny location.
After the tulips have bloomed and when leaves fade and turn brown the bulbs can be lifted, dried, cleaned and stored in a cool place until planting time. Tulips should not be grown in the same soil for several years, so replace with fresh soil every other year.
