A superb new introduction for 2016, Viburnum x burkwoodii 'Mohawk' is a hardy shrub producing clusters of bright red buds which open into a delicate array of small, highly fragrant flowers during April and May. Compact and rounded in habit, this variety is best appreciated when planted near paths and patios where its delicate aroma can be fully enjoyed, though it also makes an attractive addition to cut flower displays. Supplied at 25-30cm plants in a 3 litre pot.

Pruning

Can be pruned hard annually, after flowering

Viburnum prefer well cultivated soil, but will grow in most fertile, well drained soil. They like to be planted in areas of sun or partial shade, and should be planted to avoid strong winds.
Prune Viburnum plants back annually after flowering has finished to keep healthy and a solid shape.
