This fancy perennial known at the Peruvian Daffodil produces showy white umbels with lacy edges, with projecting stamens and wonderfully curled tepals that swirl outwards. The Ismene Festalis smells like Lily of the Valley with lemon overtones - a zesty and popular fragrance that makes this flower perfect for indoor displays. It also doesn't grow leaves, and boasts sturdy thick stems. Plant in groups in your sunny or half-shade border for a recurring show year after year. Its pure white colour makes the Festalis remarkably versatile in displays. We recommend planting amidst soft pink Sunbrella/Osteospermum on a bed of mixed Lobelia, for a delicate and whimsical fairy garden look. Top quality 14/16cm bulbs supplied. Flowers June to August. Height 60cm.

Soil Type

Fertile, well drained, moist soil

Plant in a cool greenhouse or outdoors but only in a sheltered location. If starting in pots, use a light compost and water freely during the growing season. If planting outdoors, plant each bulb at approx 10cm deep and at least 30cm apart, in fertile, well drained soil.
After planting you can begin to water regularly and growth should begin to appear within a number of weeks. In late autumn, you can lift bulbs and dry them off, then store over the winter in a cold area for next year.
