Product Description
Few plants bring such a rich, fiery presence to the border as Geum 'Fiery Tempest', with its glowing red-orange, semi-double flowers held above fresh green foliage. Appearing from late spring into early autumn, the blooms bring a strong splash of warm colour to the planting, while their rounded form contrasts beautifully with finer-textured perennials and grasses.
Reaching around 50 cm in height with a spread of 45 cm, this compact, clump-forming perennial has a neat habit that suits the front or middle of a border. Its semi-evergreen foliage retains interest beyond the main flowering period, while the manageable size also makes it well-suited to containers and informal planting schemes.
Happy in full sun or partial shade, Geum 'Fiery Tempest' performs best in moist but well-drained soil and adapts to chalk, loam and sand. Combine it with Salvias, Nepetas, Stachys or ornamental grasses to introduce contrasting flower shapes, foliage and texture around its vibrant colouring.

Geums can be planted in spring and autumn. Position them somewhere sunny, although perhaps out of direct sunlight as they can get scorched from harsh rays. Soak roots in a bucket of water for 1-2 hours before planting. Dig a hole in the border that’s big enough to house the root system. Firm in gently and water well.
