Product Description

Our Iris germanica Collection C brings together six contrasting Bearded Irises selected for their colour variation, ruffled form and strong late spring interest. The selection contains one each of ‘Autumn Leaves’, ‘Babbling Brook’, ‘Blue Bird Wine’, ‘Sultan’s Palace’, ‘Kissed by the Sun’ and ‘Change of Pace’. Flowering from late spring into early summer, the collection combines warm, cool and richly saturated tones within a unified structural framework of upright, architectural foliage.

Each variety forms a clump of upright, sword-like grey-green leaves, producing sturdy flowering stems typically reaching around 70-90 cm. While the habit remains consistent across the group, flower colour and patterning vary significantly between cultivars, ranging from soft blues and luminous yellows through to copper tones and deep purples, all carried above a strong vertical structure.

We recommend planting these Irises in free-draining, fertile soil in full sun, where all six cultivars perform best and colour is most intense. The collection works particularly well with companions such as Nepeta, Salvia, Stachys byzantina and ornamental grasses, where softer textures and contrasting forms help frame the upright structure of the irises.
