Beautiful pure white star-shaped flowers, sometimes flushed with a faint pink, begin to bloom from March through to May. Reaching a mature height and spread of 1.5m, they can be grown in containers to be displayed on the patio or decking; or planted at the front of borders where their delicate fragrance can be enjoyed. Little pruning is required for these magnificent shrubs, but if required you can prune lightly once the flowers have faded. It is often recommended that you provide some protection from strong winds, and provide a mulch in early spring. Do not allow plants to dry out in hot weather and water regularly.Plant in moist, acid-to-neutral soil in full sun or partial shaded areas. Shallow planting is required for magnolia bushes, in areas that have really good drainage.
