A fabulous evergreen with leathery pinnate leaves that form a upright bushy shrub. Mahonia, or Oregon grape are highly prized not just for the beautiful glossy foliage, but because they flower through the winter months. The elongated flowers stand erect up to 30cm long in a cup-like formation from December until April. The flowers are followed by attractive blue-black berries. Ideally they like to be in full sun or partial shade and once established will need only gentle pruning after the risk of frost has passed in the spring. Height 1.5m. 20-25cm plant supplied in a 9cm pot.
