Greek Inspired Gardens – Mediterranean Planting & More!

With summer in our sights, you might be dreaming of coastal getaways, Mediterranean beaches, and lazy days beside the pool. If you’re thinking of rejigging your garden, perhaps you could bring a piece of Mediterranean charm to your own backyard?
According to Greenhouse Management, Greek Inspired gardens are having their moment with Gen-Z. And how exactly do you achieve that? Well, we can give you a few ideas...
Alfresco Dining

Nothing says Mediterranean quite like alfresco dining. Good food, warm air, sunshine, and a well-decorated table creates a recipe for success. This can be done on any budget and is a great way of fully appreciating the summer weather!
Stonework
Grecian gardens are no stranger to intricate stonemasonry. In popular areas like Mykonos and Santorini, elegant stonework is seen everywhere you walk. Bringing an element like that into the garden will help transport you to the Mediterranean, especially throughout the summer months.
Raised Flower Beds
With stonework being prominent around these Grecian towns and cities, raised planters and flower beds are often seen alongside it. Raised planters are a perfect nod to the Greek aesthetic, as well as being ideal for those with pets (toxic plants can now be planted out of reach!).
Climbing Plants
Climbing plants help to create a shady spot in the garden, as well as becoming a focal point for any seating area. Pergolas are perfect homes for climbing plants, although a trellis can create this effect just as well if you’re stuck for space. Varieties like clematis and honeysuckle flower throughout summer, providing foliage and gorgeous blooms.
Lined Walkways

Stonework and walkways are beautiful in their own right. However, elevating them with pops of colour will only do them justice! Bedding plants and ground cover perennials are perfect options for lining a walkway or path, as well as being incredibly easy to plant and care for.
