Feel like your hands are a bit worse for wear? After some tips to keep them soft and supple – no matter the gardening job? Here are some tips to keep your hands looking fab, no matter the season.

Always use gloves

Gloves are a necessity when gardening. Pruning plants without gloves can give you cuts and grazes and handling soil without them can make your nails unnecessarily dirty. You can find gardening gloves at most supermarkets and garden centres – at affordable prices, too!

Apply Suncream

Just like you would your face, your hands need protection from harmful rays. If you leave the gloves indoors, a quick brush over the tops of your hands with some suncream can mitigate wrinkles, signs of ageing, and even sunspots and freckles.

Use a Fingernail brush

If you like to get stuck in when gardening, then a thorough clean-up afterwards is a must! We recommend buying a fingernail brush to get into those hard-to-reach areas, like under your fingernails and in between your fingers. Try not to scrub too hard though, as this can make your hands dry.

Hand cream

Last but not least, always use hand cream! A thick lotion used often can stop dryness in its tracks, helping you avoid that awful tight feeling you can get when they need some TLC.
