Let’s Talk Tatton – A Week Full of Garden Excitement

And that’s a wrap! The RHS Flower Show Tatton Park has closed its doors for another year. But what a whirlwind of a week it has been. From unveiling our first exhibition garden in over twenty years to being busy bees over at our stall, and even winning 3 awards for the design – it's safe to say that Tatton Flower Show 2023 was eventful.

Here’s everything you might have missed if you didn’t manage to visit the Tatton Flower Show this year.

The ‘Chained to Tech’ Garden Turns Heads

Designed by award-winning garden designer Rachel Platt, the ‘Chained to Tech’ garden was inspired by the ever-growing epidemic of technology addiction. With technological components hidden around the garden, the design looked to challenge our outlook on mental health and how tech addiction can affect your mental well-being, while also showcasing our extensive online product range. Not an easy task, but Rachel was a pro and incorporated points of the brief within her design.

Over the week, we were overwhelmed with the sheer number of compliments on the garden design; The time and resources spent planning the garden were certainly acknowledged over the length of the event. To find out more about our theme for the ‘Chained to Tech’ garden, visit our blog post ‘See You at Tatton!’.

Rachel spoke all about the garden, its design, and her inspiration while designing the garden in this exclusive interview.

Similar to our show garden, our resident RHS-qualified gardening expert, Hannah Rowson, unveiled her debut garden design at Tatton this year. The stall garden border was inspired by cottage garden themes. From vibrant colours, alternating textures, and pollinator-attracting qualities, the garden is a relatable and aesthetic piece of gardening that could easily be replicated in your garden.

Hannah’s garden won 4 out of 5 stars, which is an exciting achievement! You can see more of Hannah over on our socials, where she shares her top gardening tips to keep your garden looking fabulous all year round.

Thank You to Our Volunteers!

The week couldn’t have been achieved without the help of our volunteers! From setting up and planting the show garden to planning and pulling together the stall, serving customers, and even watering the plants – we couldn't have done it without the help of our volunteers. A huge thank you to you all!

And That’s Not All...

Drumroll please... we’re proud to say that our ‘Chained to Tech’ garden won THREE awards throughout the Tatton Flower Show: A Silver Gilt Award, Best Construction Medal and the People’s Choice Award!

To say that the show was a roaring success for our company is a bit of an understatement. We’ve loved hearing all the feedback, giving customers a helping hand at our stall, and seeing Rachel and Hannah’s designs come to life in their gardens.
