J Parker’s team up with Oldham Athletic Community Trust to host family fun day for charity

We are extremely proud to forces with the Oldham Athletic Community Trust to welcome families from across the region to a day packed full of fun and interactive activities at their renowned garden centre at Daisy Nook in Failsworth. With free admission on the day, running from 10am to 3pm on Friday 7th August 2026, families will be able to come along and take part in football themed games, skill challenges, competitions and more.

J. Parker’s is proud to be a member of the ‘Friends of Oldham AthleticWOR Community Trust’ and Oldham Athletic Business Club and shares the same vision as building opportunities and programmes for the people of Oldham. This fun day will further enhance this shared relationship and help raise funds to support the Community Trust’s ‘Latics to the Limits’ campaign. This ambitious fundraising challenge will see Sophie Hunt, Female Football Pathway Manager at Oldham Athletic Community Trust, take on an incredible 860-mile journey from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Starting from mid-August, Sophie will run the length of the country over 24 days, averaging around 35 miles per day, in a challenge designed to raise vital funds and awareness for communities across Oldham.

“We are honoured as OACT to be supporting J. Parker’s and Daisy Nook in this family-oriented event. Plans include business village and stalls, beating Chaddy the Owl in penalty shootout and fire engine in situ. All geared to raising critical funds for projects that deliver a ‘Better Oldham’”.

On the day, children will be able to meet and have their photo taken with the always popular club mascot, meet the community engagement team who do some amazing work as part of their goal of improving the lives of the people of Oldham.

The event will also host prizes to be won, fantastic food to be enjoyed and even food demonstrations in the garden centres dedicated Community room for parents.

Following on from its successful launch of a Children’s gardening club at Daisy Nook, the J. Parker’s team will also be hosting gardening activities and workshops throughout the day, helping to enhance the skills of young gardeners in Oldham and beyond.
