Syringa vulgaris Charles Joly is an old fashioned double flowering Syringa. Also known as Lilac, Charles Joly is a deciduous shrub with large simple leaves and heavily branched inflorescence made up of dense clusters of deep purple-red single flowers. It can reach a mature height of up to 2-3m but can withstand vigorous pruning so can be kept to any manageable size to suit your garden. Holds the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit for its reliable performance, stability of colour and form and good resistance to pests and diseases. 30-40cm bare rooted plant supplied.
