Product Description
The Tulip Unusual Parrot Collection brings together a striking mix of flamboyant, ruffled Tulips selected for their dramatic petal form and richly layered colouring. This curated collection includes ‘Super Parrot’, ‘Silver Parrot’, ‘Rococo’, ‘Flaming Parrot’ and ‘Blue Parrot’, each contributing distinctive, feathered blooms with irregular edges and painterly blends of green, cream, crimson, violet and smoky purple tones. The twisted, flared petals create a sense of movement and texture, making every flower visually unique within the planting.
Flowering in mid to late spring, this collection extends the Tulip season with a bold and expressive display. These plants typically reach around 45 cm tall, forming upright clumps that hold their large, open blooms above fresh green foliage. Their slightly looser habit and intricate flower structure add depth and contrast among more uniform spring-flowering bulbs, drawing attention as the season matures.
Thriving in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun, these Tulips are perfect for sheltered borders, statement containers or mixed bulb plantings where their elaborate forms can be appreciated up close. They combine effectively with simpler, single-flowered Tulips, early-flowering perennials or low ornamental grasses, allowing their ornate blooms to stand out while contributing to a layered and dynamic spring composition.

Growing at a glance…
Tulip bulbs should be planted in autumn, before any frost. Find an area of soil that is well-drained and moist and plant your bulbs at twice their depth and spaced apart by 10-15cm. Ensure they are properly covered, you should not be able to see them on the surface of the soil. Position in an area that you know receives plenty of sunlight but is also sheltered from harsh winds. Deadhead the flowers once they wilt, encouraging a healthier plant.
