Come with Us to Our Anwick, Lincolnshire Garden Centre

The entrance of our Anwick garden centre

Did you know that J. Parker’s has three garden centres? Today we’re giving you a quick tour of our Lincolnshire-based garden centre! Our Lincolnshire site was bought by the Parker family in the 1950s when it was spare farmland. This allowed them to grow their own bulbs and be home to our larger warehouse, where orders could be picked, packed, and sent to customers.

As the years went on, the Anwick site has transformed! It is home to our large warehouse, the garden centre, a polytunnel, and private grounds.

The Garden Centre

Plenty of seasonal plants inside the garden centre

Our Anwick garden centre was built around 1970, providing the local area with a dedicated nursery to shop for seasonal plants, pots, gifts and garden accessories. You can also stop for a bite to eat at The Spire café, which sells fresh food and cakes every day.

The garden centre was much smaller than it is today – it didn’t even have a coffee shop! In 2015, it went under a complete refurb, with new areas added. The work finished in February 2015, unveiling the modern garden centre that you see today. With 2,000 square metres of indoor space and 1,000 sqm outdoor space, there’s plenty of room to display our house plants, garden plants, homeware, giftware, compost, growing media, and pots!

The Polytunnel

A busy polytunnel

As part of the 2015 renovation, a large polytunnel was added to the rear of the lot. This is where our growing plants are held and cared for. Eventually, these are either sold in the garden centre or sent to customers. This polytunnel is an integral addition to our Anwick site and is always buzzing with life.

The Filming Garden

Our gardening expert Hannah in our filming garden

In the latter half of 2022, we decided it was finally time to add to our online offering with planting advice videos and reels. Our gardening expert Hannah had finished her RHS qualification and was up to the challenge of giving you heaps of reliable advice.

Many of our videos are filmed offsite at our other gardening centres, which are closer to our headquarters in Old Trafford, Manchester. However, the gorgeous backdrop of the Anwick site is truly unbeatable. We have big plans in store for future online content. Until then, why not take a look at Hannah’s recent videos on our TiktokInstagram, or YouTube?
