Our Hanging Basket Favourites

Pink and purple trailing fuchsias in a hanging basket

Bursting with colourful flowers or vibrant foliage, hanging baskets are the perfect addition to any garden, big or small. With so many plant options for hanging baskets, it can be tough to know where to start, so we've made things simple.

From cascading fruit to hardy flowers, discover our hanging basket favourites to fill your outdoor space with life this summer.

Begonias - Begonias are summer staples, especially for hanging baskets. Some even have a trailing habit, meaning they'll cascade elegantly over the edge of your basket. We highly recommend varieties like Begonia 'Apricot Shades' for your next hanging basket display!

Fuchsias - Loved by many for their hanging habits and bell-shaped blooms, Fuchsias are certainly one to beat! They’re often bi-coloured, giving you the best of both worlds.

Million bells - Also known as Calibrachoa, these perfect blooms are a great choice for hanging baskets. They’re very similar in shape to the classic petunia, but just slightly smaller. With an abundance of blooms filling the basket, these plants are a must. Calibrachoa Black Cherry or even Calibrachoa Cabaret Good Night Kiss could give an outstanding hanging basket display this summer (if we had to name just a couple!).

Lobelia - Lobelia are another great option for hanging baskets, thanks to their vibrant colours and low-maintenance qualities.

Petunias - Petunias are arguably the most popular bedding plant, especially for hanging basket displays. With a wide range of colours to choose from, this plant will provide you with a gorgeous garden for months on end with ease. Petunia Tidal Wave is a superb variety to start your summer displays off with!

Geraniums - Geraniums are lauded as a classic bedding plant for a reason. With a wide selection of colours and varieties to choose from, growing a summer display on a budget is do-able with these gorgeous blooms. Try varieties like Geranium Horizon Mix this summer for a striking start to your displays.
