Its ivory petals are streaked with deep purple and magenta, creating a marbled, painterly effect that shifts in intensity as the flower opens. Each bloom forms a classic, slightly pointed shape, giving a crisp outline that stands out sharply against fresh spring growth in mixed planting.

‘Shakespeare’ forms a compact, upright clump with strong stems that hold the flowers neatly above surrounding foliage through mid to late spring, typically April to May. The even spacing and moderate spread make it well suited to repeated planting, where subtle variation in flame patterning adds movement across the display rather than uniform repetition.
