Trending Bedding Colour Schemes for Summer

Spring is on its way, and that means one thing - it's finally summer planting season! Sure, spring is the time to be enjoying our tulips and daffodils and such, but it's also time to be planning ahead for our summer displays. 

If you're stuck on ideas, then we've got your back. Here are a couple of top trending colour schemes you could grow in your displays - regardless of gardening skill. 

For Fabulously Fiery Colour Schemes

Bright, colourful displays are certainly on trend this year. Not only will they brighten your displays, but they'll brighten your spirits too! You'll definitely feel like summer is here when your blooms pop up throughout the season. Here are our favourite plants to achieve the look:

Begonias: This bedding plant is easy to grow and easy on the eyes. Nothing says summer quite like a begonia, either, especially begonia apricot shades!

Rudbeckias: Also known as Coneflowers, Rudbeckias are great perennials for any summer display. Especially if you're after a summery, Mediterranean vibe. 

Zinnias: Zinnias are some of the most striking annuals to grow in your garden. They can be grown either by seed or by plant plugs, which makes the planting process easy and beginner-friendly. 

Kniphofia: One way to truly get that summer holiday feel is with Kniphofia plants. These red hot pokers produce impressive flowers in shades of red, orange, and yellow - and that's all on one flower! 

Cornus: To complete the ensemble, you can't go wrong with a bit of foliage. Cornus plants are glorious perennials, producing all kinds of colours for the summer garden (depending on which you choose). They'll complement your displays perfectly, lasting for months on end.

Peonies: You can't go wrong with peonies when planning a pastel colour scheme. These gorgeous plants can be grown in beds and containers, providing you with long-lasting colour as well as the perfect cutting flowers for bouquets.
