RHS AGM Winning Bulbs for Your Spring Displays

Growing your very own award-winning display is only a bulb or two away this Spring. With a range of RHS AGM bulbs, you can recreate your favourite displays seen around award season this year and every year before.

Without further ado, here are some of our top award-winning picks that will add glorious colour and excitement to your garden throughout Spring.

Alliums

Looking for something unique and statuesque for your displays this Spring? Alliums are a good shout, and these award-winning varieties are a great bunch to start with.

Allium Purple Sensation - A gorgeous bloom that grows huge flower heads in shades of deep purple, hence the name. It's purple and sensational! Grows to heights around 80cm tall, perfect for growing at the back of a border to add some extra height.

Allium Globe Master - Globe Master is, as you can imagine, a large variety of Allium. Produces big globe-sized flower heads in deep purple, each of which sit on tall 80cm stems. Another perfect choice for growing at the back of the border for extra height.

Tulips

Among the most popular bulbs on the market for Spring has to be Tulips. With hundreds of cultivars, thousands of varieties, and numerous winners of the esteemed Award of Garden Merit, it's easy to see why they've remained at the top of many of our must-grow list for Spring. Why not try...

Tulip Ballerina - This striking lily-flowering variety produces sunset orange blooms, each with reflexed petals that give it a regal look. A gorgeous Tulip to grow at the front of any border, in any container, or alongside your other favourite Spring blooms.

Tulip Sorbet - This award-winning Tulip is truly impressive. Its brilliant white petals are streaked with brushes of blood red, giving it unique appearance that only centuries of breeding can achieve. Best for using as a focal piece in a container or along walkways so you can appreciate their beauty whenever you leave the house.

Tulip Yellow Pomponette - Double daffodils, whether early or late flowering, are a must for ANY spring garden. Their double rows of petals give them this ruffled look, similar to a peony. Yellow Pomponette in particular is stunning, with its bright yellow colour that offsets its green foliage.

Daffodils

Last but not least, it's Daffodils. Obviously, Daffodils are already one of the most well-known and widely grown Spring blooms on the market, next to the Tulip. However, there are a few varieties that have caught the attention of the RHS, and have been awarded the exciting Award of Garden Merit. Here's just two of our favourites that will add sensational colour to your displays.

RHS AGM Dwarf/Compact Narcissus Collection - These compact Daffodils are a great way of adding carpets of colour to your gardens this Spring. Their compact shape and striking shades make them a perfect choice for containers and patio pots, or for growing through grass. There, they will naturalise without assistance, bringing more blooms year after year.

RHS AGM Narcissus Collection - This collection might sound exactly the same as the one above, but it certainly isn't. In their own right, these 'normal' sized Daffodils are great for growing in abundance through any grassy area, flower bed, or container.
